I am currently creating a 28mm Seven Years War British brigade using Scottish (or North British to use contemporary parlance) units.I have painted the 2nd Battalion 1st Foot, Royal Regiment, 21st Royal North British Fusiliers, and the 42nd Royal Highland Regt. The 2nd Royal North British Dragoons and the 25th (Edinburgh Regt are next on the agenda as well as the artllery battery of Forbes McBean.(Click on the photos to enlarge)
The grenadier company (far left) had the thistle enclosed with the roundlette bearing the motto of Scotland Nemo Impune Me Lacessit )Nobody provokes me with impunity)relating to the thistle emblem of Scotland. I have kept the grenadiers mounted seperately incase a provisional grenadier unit is formed from detached grenadier coys.
